In der Schweiz und in anderen westlichen Ländern wird oftmals behauptet, dass die Bildungsexpansion zu einer offeneren Gesellschaft führe, in der individuelle Leistung – anstatt sozialer Reproduktion – zum Wohlergehen nachwachsender Generationen beitrage. Ein bedeutsamer Bereich ist hierbei die Partnerschafts- und Familienbildung, welche besonders durch Veränderungen in der Bildung beeinflusst wird. Das Sonderheft «Bildungsexpansion, Familieninteraktionen und offene Gesellschaft» befasst sich – auch im internationalen Vergleich – mit den Konsequenzen der Bildungsexpansion für Partnerschaft und Familieninteraktionen und den Beitrag den diese Dynamiken für die Offenheit der Schweizer Gesellschaft leisten.
In Switzerland and other western countries, educational expansion is often asserted to lead to a more open society, in which individual achievement (rather than social reproduction) contributes to the wellbeing of future generations. Particularly relevant in this context is the field of partnership and family formation, which can be assumed to be strongly influenced by educational transformations. The special issue «Educational Expansion, Family Interactions, and the Open Society» examines the consequences of educational expansion for partnership and family interaction in a comparative perspective and studies how they contribute to the openness of the Swiss society.
En Suisse et dans d’autres pays occidentaux on affirme, que l’expansion du système de formation mène à une société plus ouverte, dans laquelle la réussite personnelle (plutôt que la reproduction sociale) promet de meilleures conditions de vie aux générations futures. Le domaine de la formation des couples et de la famille est particulièrement important et il est notamment influencé par des transformations du système d’éducation. Le numéro spécial « Expansion du système de formation, interactions familiales et la société ouverte » étudie les conséquences de l’expansion de la formation sur les relations entre partenaires et les interactions familiales. Dans une perspective comparative, il évalue la contribution que cette dynamique apporte à l’ouverture de la société Suisse.
